Cleaning the Registry

If you blindly remove all in registry scan you do face a large chance of deleting something important. Follow the advice in my signature (the text below this post)

 

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

CCleaner is considered to have a gentle registry cleaner, however that doesn't mean it can't cause problems as all registry cleaners can give a false positive. As long as you leave the creation of backups on in CCleaner you can undo them, and have a current System Restore Point (preferably a daily one as a good computing practice) to restore from you can pretty undo any registry cleaning mishaps.
