AnnoyM
I would like to report a high Privacy Security Issue with versions aimed at Windows 10 / Spartan Edge versions I am utterly dissappointed to discover that CCcleaner, something I rely on quite a lot, is not cleaning out the Microsoft Spartan/edge folders classified as C:\users\[localuser]\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft In which can be found two "Entertaining" folders /CryptnetUrlCache which contains folders being /Content and /Metadata and also C:\users\[localuser]\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft \Interet explorer which contains \Services Can somebody please explain why the .sys files in these containers which is very sensitive as it contains url data and content data is primarily Not being deleted by your software and secondary, can you explain if you may Is this part of the data which is being sent back to Microsoft? This message is for anybody who knows the answer and for CCleaner staff Thank You AnnoyM
Moderators Nergal Posted September 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 21, 2015 Currently windows 10 Edge and IE browsers are being difficult to clean due to the OS locking the files for use from other applications. The developers are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. The developers rarely interact with the forum, so you are likely not to see a response from them however they read every post on the forum ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
