MrH
I've been using CCleaner for many years and I've never had this issue before. It seems to be because of the Microsoft/INetCache folder, it has a million little files that take an age to clean, this was never the case on Windows 7 nor 8.1. I don't even know where these files keep coming from as I don't use IE or Edge, I use Chrome.
MrH
BUMP, it's the same with all Internet cache files, they take so long to clean (maybe 15 minutes, opposed to a minute before Windows 10).
Moderators Nergal Posted September 22, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 22, 2015 Just because you don't use Edge there are still parts of Windows that use it. I'd you uncheck the ie and Edge sections does it still take as long? The developers are aware of and working on an issue with browser cleaning in windows 10 ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Sir Knight
I'm using Windows 10 64-bit Pentium N3540 @ 2.16GHz with 8GB RAM and not using Edge and, when the program starts, it only takes seconds to clean (as it always did) but I did notice that sometimes CCleaner doesn't always load right away. It's runing in Task Manager but I have to wait sometimes 60 seconds for it to load. I noticed this delay only since this last update. Any clues? Or should I post this as a new thread? Thanks.
