LostMyfiles
Boot from USB drive? Would it be better to run Recuva from Windows on the drive with deleted data, or to shut down windows and boot from a USB drive?
Moderators Nergal Posted July 7, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 7, 2015 Recuva is a windows only program it does not have a boot mode, however if your source (the drive you are trying to recover deleted items from) is the drive you have windows on it is better to use the portable build of recuva running from a usb drive - and ideally downloaded using a different PC but that's not usually possible. http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
