Hard Drive Stats - Where are they obtained from?

Speccy gives some cool hard drive stats like "Power on Count" and "Power on Time".  Just a couple of questions I have:

1) What keeps track of these figures?  Are these figures stored in the hard drive itself (i.e. in a chip), or does Windows monitor them and it is Windows that holds these figures?

2) If the primary hard drive is formatted and Windows is reinstalled, will stats like "Power on Count" and "Power on Time" be reset?

1) stored by S.M.A.R.T in the hard drive firmware.

2) cannot be reset. otherwise people would wind back those figures and sell the drive as new. :)

Backup now & backup often.

I think this is a legitimate bug. Running GPU-Z shows my crossfire as active, yet Speccy shows it as disabled. Single card crossfire apparently doesn't have the option to disable crossfire in Catalyst Control Center, at least I don't. Running GPU performance tests shows usage on both GPUs and sensors show increase in heat rougly equal on both GPUs. It's clear to me that both cards are sharing the load, hence crossfire is working. Speccy needs to accurately display crossfire settings or not display them at all. This includes people using crossfire as well as crossfire x2.

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
