SkyDrive to be renamed OneDrive

The name change is the result of a British court ruling that the SkyDrive name infringed on the trademark of the familiar satellite television cervice, held by British Sky Broadcasting Group. Microsoft is changing the name across the world, not just in Britain.

I reckon that they should have used the name: "WhyDrive" cause it's got me beat who would use the service.

Interesting reading though hazelnut

Happened today

SkyDrive is being automatically upgraded to OneDrive, and existing apps will continue to work with the service. Microsoft will rebrand its Windows 8, Windows Vista, and Mac apps today, alongside its mobile and Xbox versions. Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 won’t be rebranded immediately, but both will continue to work with the new OneDrive service.
