DazzyBox
Hi there. My Firefox extensions are no longer showing up in the start up management tool of CCleaner. The plugins are fine. I am using the latest builds of both CC and FF (26). Any ideas? Cheers.
Alan_B
Welcome to the forum. The plugins are fine. Please clarify. Are you saying that CC correctly shows the "Plugins" but not the "Extensions" or are you meaning that your "Extensions" are still present and working correctly ? Please list up to (and no more than) 6 of the most common Firefox Extensions which are not being shown, Otherwise others may well report "it works for me" because they happen to use extensions that are still detected. Please define the actual reported version number of CC. What was to you the "latest" is not the same as what will be the latest when this topic is read in the future. Please define version of Windows, and whether 32 bit or 64 bit - it might be relevant.
DazzyBox
H Alanm Thanks for your reply. Yes, that is correct, CC correctly shows the Plugins but not the Extensions- none whatsoever. I performed a fresh install of Firefox (removing all, traces), and the extensions where listed, but have disappeared agin. Using CC 4.08.4428 Windows XP Pro SP3 (Yes , I know it's ancient !) 32bit Regards. D

cbaumer0628
Like DazzyBox, on my PC running Windows XP SP3, I too have noticed thatCCleaner's (CC) (v4.08.4428) Tools->Startup->Firefox tab is showing onlydata for plugins and data for extensions is missing for Firefox (FF) 26and later (after just upgrading to FF 27.0b2 yesterday).Under FF 25.0.1, CC's Tools->Startup->Firefox tab was in completeagreement with FF's Tools->Add-ons ("about:addons"), showing 4 extensions(3 enabled, 1 disabled) and 17 plugins (15 enabled, 2 disabled). After removing FF 25.0.1 including profile data, doing a clean installof FF 26.0 including reinstallation of all extensions and plugins, withNO changes in extensions/plugins from FF 25.0.1, FF's "about:addons"information stayed exactly the same, however CC's Startup->Firefox tabinformation was no longer in agreement. The tab's plugin informationfor the 17 plugins was in total agreement with FF. However, the tab hadNO extension information for the 4 installed extensions. After doing a little searching at bugzilla.mozilla.org, I discovered thatFF's installed extension information migrated from FF profile file"extensions.sqlite" to "extensions.json" in FF 26 by the followingbug/feature requests. Likewise, FF's installed theme information(which appears under the "Appearance" tab of "about:addons") migratedfrom profile file "addons.sqlite" to "addons.json".http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=853388http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=853389So, if FF 26 was installed as an upgrade to FF 25, the obsolete"extensions.sqlite" profile file will still be there and CC'sTools->Startup->Firefox tab will show FF 25 (rather than FF 26)extension information from this file. However, if FF 26 was installedas a clean install, with FF 25 and profile data removed beforehand, asDazzyBox and I had done, then extension data will be completely missingfrom CC's Tools->Startup->Firefox tab. You can easily reproduce thisproblem, on a machine that merely upgraded from FF 25 to FF 26, by simplyremoving or renaming "extensions.sqlite" in the profile folder. So, both I and DazzyBox would appreciate it very much if you would modifyCC to look for installed extension information in profile file"extensions.json", rather than "extensions.sqlite", for FF 26 and later. Thanks in advance! Alan_B
Plugins have no problem - things like FLASH are installed on the operating system and not in browser profiles.
DazzyBox
Hi Guys. Sorry I haven't replied since my initial enquiry. Thanks to all for your input. I was particularly interested in cbaumer0628's post. Some of my extensions are yet to be updated to be compatible with FF26, so I have performed a clean install of FF25, and no longer have the problem. To answer dvdbane- Yes I do have Avast installed, and I have never had any problems- Why do you ask ? Regards
