TRinAz
Under Applications-Applications I have an check box for McAfee Antivirus ? Best of my knowledge I never installed McAfee...have always used Bitdefender IS. How do you remove an item from the CCLeaner Applications/Applications settings ? Thanks....TRinAz
Moderators Andavari Posted August 21, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 21, 2013 Perhaps it was some trial version that came pre-installed on your computer? If so you can uninstall it if there's for instance a reference in Add/Remove Programs. If there's no uninstall reference that usually means something was left behind after an uninstall, and most antivirus' leave plenty behind when removed. What CCleaner is detecting could be in these locations: * Registry * Program Files folder * Application Data folder(s). Your safest route to remove leftovers if you find McAfee Antivirus references is to visit their website and look for something like a Remover or Uninstaller for McAfee Antivirus, most antivirus vendors supply such a file.
