Latest free version of defraggler

Recommended Posts

I have been using the versions listed in Defraggler (free) for many years and have always had my drive completely defragged. The latest version is leaving apprx. 460 mb (+/-) no matter how many times I defrag. It also shows that my drive is 2% fragmented. The defrag operation is shown active but the numbers never change; the # of files remains constant and the % never changes. I am running the same o/s (xp) and the same basic systems for email, ms office, etc. Any thoughts

why (apparently) with this Defrag ver. I do not get a complete disk defrag? Thanks.

I also think they have changed the default settings.

For example, exclude hibernate and exclude restore points are now checked by default (it's been a while since I installed so I may have that around the wrong way) so you may be experiencing your results due to these changed settings.

Check that out.

I've moved this thread to the defraggler bugs board

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
