Moderators rridgely Posted January 12, 2006 Moderators Share Posted January 12, 2006 If you have them in wma and convert them to mp3 they are going to sound awefull. That being said this will do it.: http://www.cnet.com.au/downloads/info.htm?swid=10418415
lokoike
If you have them in wma and convert them to mp3 they are going to sound awefull. How very true. I converted over 9 GB of wma's at 128k to MP3 at the same bit rate, and they sound like crap. I know, very stupid. I did it over a year ago, before I knew about all the formats and their capabilities. Now the entire collection is basically worthless! One of these days, I'll have to remake it... Save a tree, eat a beaver. Save a tree, wipe with an owl. Every time a bell rings, a thread gets hijacked! ding, ding! Give Andavari lots of money and maybe even consider getting K a DVD-RW drive. If it's not Scottish, IT'S CRAP!!!
Eldmannen
I think you can play WMA with Winamp (not the Lite-version) if you dont want them to open in Windows Media Player. I also suggest you to avoid WMA (.wma and .wmv) files.
res45
I have used dbpoweramp for years now to convert WMA to MP3 using the MP3 (Lame) as well a WMA 9 and Real Media for piticular cases. Have a Boston surround sound system and I cant really tell a bit of difference between the sound quality of the original WMA file and the MP3 file. If converting between the 2 file types produced quality as awful as others have said I sure wouldnt be using this program. We use it to convert alot of music for DVD slide shows and Media CD's
Eldmannen
LAME is a really great MP3 encoder. As a matter of fact, it is the greatest.
