krwurst53
When I defrag one of my drives there is an Evernote database file (.exb extension) that remains fragmented resulting in leaving the drive at 40% fragmentation. When I try to just defrag that file I get a message stating that the defrag was aborted and the operation cannot be done. Does anyone have any suggestions? Moderators Nergal Posted November 1, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 1, 2012 File is locked, turn off evernote syncing, then defrag, or add it to excluded files (which is probably safer to do ) Back up the file before you defrag it Just in case ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Super Fast
Try doing a full disk defrag via Windows defrag utility, & see if it defrags the evernote file. Re-analyze with Defraggler, then post if the file is still fragmented or not. Defraggler should be able to defrag whatever Windows defrag utility can (since it uses Windows API). I think it will be interesting to see what the results are.
