Moderators rridgely Posted October 31, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 31, 2012 I know there was some discussion about Windows 8 not having DVD playback built in. If you have the pro version you can install media center for free(until January I think). You can find a link here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/feature-packs I took a day for my key to come but the install worked fine. I don't play dvds on my computer but its good to know I can.(I guess I could have just used vlc if I hadn't downloaded this)
Moderators Andavari Posted October 31, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 31, 2012 They probably just didn't want people ripping DVDs, as opposed to "playing them." Possibly some DMCA reasoning behind it.
Winapp2.ini
HOME DVD PLAYING IS KILLING THE MOVIE INDUSTRY. I grabbed a few keys myself last week, but haven't redeemed yet. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
