Ratty
I used CCleaner last weekend and have now discovered that some of web sitesI use are not loading properly. The ones that aren't working include Facebook, Golden Casket, Zazz. I seem to end up with a page of blue underlined links and there only seems to be text no images. On another site which has tabs, the page has "shrunk" and there aren't any links to any tabs. Any clues on how to fix this problem?
Moderators Nergal Posted June 23, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 23, 2012 ccleaner can't really do anything like that. closest it sounds like is a cache corruption, which is easily fixed by clearing the cache from within the browser. however it would help if we could know a couple of things what browser are you using what version of ccleaner what Operating System version what do you have checked off in ccleaner ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Ratty
Thanks for responding. I am Using Firefox 12.0; CCleaner 3.15: Windows XP. Being quite ignorant I just allowed the cleaner to clean up everything that came up as ticked, andd then being quite dumb I didn't do a backup before I did anything. I am just aware that I could access these pages the day of, or before I ran the cleaner and then not after. I'm sure I've run it before without issue, so just did it again - oops. Ratty
Many, many thanks - one of my kids helped me find where the "cache" bit was in the Firefox tools, ticked it etc and now everything is working. Cheers.
