computerhero
Many times I leave a computer defragging and come back hours later to see that the computer went to sleep while defragging. It would also be great if there was an option to wake the computer up for its scheduled scan. Currently what I do to set it to run at the same time as the antivirus runs and check the box in the antivirus to wake up for scheduled scans. The Dude
To turn off sleep mode in Windows: Right Click anywhere on the desktop/Properties/Screen Saver tab/Monitor Power/Power/Settings/ Turn off hard disks = Never, System Standby = Never. I think that will do it.
Moderators Nergal Posted May 8, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 8, 2012 my guess is the OP is attempting not to have to do that manually before and after every defrag ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. SchroederX
+1 I usually have my netbook set to maximum power saving mode, but I forget to set it to some other mode when I need to run Defraggler. But Defraggler is really good at coping with standby, it just continues after resuming... very nice.
