  1. How can one eliminate empty space on a HDD? Can Defraggler move all files to one part of the drive, to eliminate empty space? How is it done? This is desireable so a HDD may be partitioned.
  2. Is there any benefit to turning off a virus scanner during a defrag? Does it matter if the defrag is being done on the OS drive or a data drive?
  3. Can a HDD other then the OS HDD be defragged on a boot time defrag? If so, how is that set up?
  4. What are the benefits and advantages of doing a defragment at boot time?
  5. I wish to partition a drive, and to that end, undertook defragmenting it because Defraggler showed a few sectors being occupied at the end of the drive. Defraggler has been working about 12 hours now, and rather than moving the data at the back of the drive up to the front with the rest of the data, it has added more data to the back of the drive, Perhaps it is just using this area for temporary storage as it moves files around. Will it clear this area eventually? Defraggler is stating it will take more than a day to finish. I prefer not to run it all that time just to be foiled at the end.
  6. Defraggler v.2.09.391 Windows XP Pro 32bit Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.0 GHz 4 GB Ram Turn off hard disks: Never System Standby: Never Hard Drive: WD Black Caviar 1.5TB SATA Used: 720GB 52% Free: 677GB 48% Current Fragmentation: 6% Status: Defragmenting: 2% Remaining Time: > 1 day Defraggler has been running for about 12 hours and wants more than another day to finish. Is this normal? I have a slow computer, but I'm still surprised at how long this is taking.
  7. To turn off sleep mode in Windows: Right Click anywhere on the desktop/Properties/Screen Saver tab/Monitor Power/Power/Settings/ Turn off hard disks = Never, System Standby = Never. I think that will do it.
  8. What's the latest version of CC; and for future reference, where can that be found out?
