par0x Posted November 27, 2005 Share Posted November 27, 2005 My pc has 2 hard drives and they both have 'program files' folder on both but it wont let me remove it from one of the drives it comes up with a error saying that avshelltxt.dll is being used but it dont show it on taskmanager and when i try in safe mode it ays the same any programs that can delete these files or any program that can end the processes that are hiden? thanks:) Edit: also is there a way to move everything off the drive windows was installed on to the other hard drive? JohnDemolition Posted November 28, 2005 Share Posted November 28, 2005 lets see. avshelltxt.dll wont show up on Windows Task Manager because a program has loaded it into memory which pretty much means it's in use. when a file is in use, you cant delete it(well you can in Linux but not Windows). the only way to do this is through DOS(if you have it installed). if you dont, you can use a linux boot cd to erase the folder and all the contents but i havent used it so i dont know how to do it that way. as for the second problem, DOS or Linux boot cd.
