please add an option to delete custom files from folders based on the file age (e.g. delete *.log files from c:\dir1 where the file is older than 1 month)

Please fix the way CCleaner attempts to add the file a link points to in Windows Vista & 7 (instead of deleting the actual link, when you add it).

Not only is it annoying, it could cause people problems. If it cannot be fixed, why not disable it to be on the safe side?

Although, I don't see why it couldn't be treated as a simple delete line (much like unins.exe/uninst.txt files do).

Example:

You add AVG 2011.LNK to CCleaner under Windows XP.

Works great!

Try it in Windows 7, & that desktop shortcut becomes AVG program file directory!

How about a zero-bite file and empty folder detection/deletion? I remember back when there used to be a lot of cleaners who would do this, but I can only think of one that does this now (Sounds like "Gary").

Also, as part of secure delete, can CCleaner reset file lengths to zero? A few other programs do this, and I think that would make for even more secure deletion.

And a bit more complex, but outside of a batch file, is it possible for CCleaner to trigger Defraggler? Ideally, as part of a monthly maintenance routine, you would run CCleaner, wipe the disk, and then with the junk files cleared off, you trigger defragging to make use of the empty space. Having it the other way (defrag then wipe clear space) would also be a nifty option.

Finally, is there some way to ramp up the uninstaller, so that after running the 'usual' uninstall, it does a search for folder and registry entries for that program? There are a few programs that do this, but folding that functionality into CCleaner seems to be a natural match.

Thanks so much for making the best cleaner out there!!

This is the SUGGESTIONS forum.

This is where TOPICS for suggestions belong.

This topic has a very non-specific title which omits description of what it is about,

so the last 4 suggestions are not really hijacks, but could be a waste of time.

They would be far better in individual topics with RELEVANT titles.

Those with a specific interest in purging service pack Backup files are unlikely to look at a general FEATURE suggestion,

and if they do they will lose interest when they see it is a request to delay deletion of custom files until they are 1 month old.

3 screen heights of this topic are now taken by 5 suggestions.

3 screen heights of the Suggestion forum would hold 51 suggestions.

What will this topic be like if it holds those 51 suggestions ?

Enough Already ! ! !

It may be appropriate to lock this topic now.
