Guest Shane0500
Hello, I have a rather annoying occurance of my Firefox cache files vanishing! I run WinXP Media Center, avast! for antivirus, Windows firewall on, and i use ccleaner often, but i never check the "internet cache" box, as i have dial up internet, the pages load quite slowly, which is why i love the cache so much. Its very annoying. My firefox is set to clean on its own when it is closed, but i have it set not to remember history, but to load images automatically. I also have firefox set to accept cookies from sites until they expire. 1 last thing is, i have 100MB for cache space in firefox options. Any help would be nice! Moderators Nergal Posted February 14, 2011 Moderators Share Posted February 14, 2011 My firefox is set to clean on its own when it is closed ?? this to me tells me your firefox is clearing your cache and none of but i have it set not to remember history, but to load images automatically. I also have firefox set to accept cookies from sites until they expire. 1 last thing is, i have 100MB for cache space in firefox options. would have any effect on whether the cache is cleaned at exit ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators Andavari Posted February 15, 2011 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2011 1. Go into Firefox's 'Tools->Options', then click 'Privacy'. All the stuff to keep your cache is located in there that you'd need to untick to keep. 2. Go into 'Tools->Options', then click 'Advanced', and then click Network. Set an Offline storage that will best work for you. Also you may want to configure 'Tools->Clear Recent History' Also see this Firefox help file for offline storage.
