Parvez
I been using Windows Firewall for couple of days and so decided to use something else. Should i use Zonealarm Free v5.5 or Sygate Personal Firewall v5.6 (free)? I heard Zonealarm v5.5 gives problems? Thanks
Moderators rridgely Posted November 1, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 1, 2005 Get zone alarm 5.5.094.000 here: http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/info...aseHistory.html This version hasn't given me any problems and I have been using it for a pretty long time. The new version 6 is the one that is buggy. Sygate in my opinion just isn't good enough. I have seen it fail too many times to trust it.

Plus+, Only way to get a vuris are Hacked is either using a Peer To Peer program or... going to some Website that is known for hackers and spyware. I have not had any problems on Windows. That included I'm networked with a Wireless 4 port NetGear MR814v.2 router. Having no trouble. I see that firewalls are a waste of Memory Usage
Moderators rridgely Posted November 1, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 1, 2005 I'm behind a linksys router and still use ZA for outbound scanning. Proof you need a firewall. http://forum.CCleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=2461&hl=proof

Parvez
Oh, one more question... For example i downloaded ZoneAlarm 5.5.094.000 and it asks me to update it. I should update the signature files right? instead of upgrading ZoneAlarm to it's newest version.
Moderators rridgely Posted November 1, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 1, 2005 No dont upgrade. It will update to the new crappy version 6. A firewall isnt like an antivirus you don't have to upgrade all the time.
