IE8 Problem with remembering account numbers

Recommended Posts

Whenever I run Ccleaner, and I then load up IE8, I find that my account number on e.g. Barclaycard has disappeared.

This does not happen with Firefox or Google Chrome.

I would be grateful if someone could offer some ideas as to what I should have ticked / unticked in WINDOWS/INTERNET EXXPLORER or whether it is an INTERNET OPTIONS problem ?

try and uncheck index.dat, cookies and Autocomplete Form data

then check each of those indvidually and see which one is the cause

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

Hi Nergal,

Tried those 2 options already - no joy.

I actually mentioned three check marks

1) Index.dat

2) Auto-Complete Forms

and

3) cookies

however if you've already tried all three:-/

I don't have a barclays account so can't test this fully, but it doesn't look like they use flash cookies

however it's worth a try

uncheck everything on both tabs of ccleaner

log into barclays

close your browser

right click adobe flash in ccleaner

choose clean

open your browser and go to barclays

if the info is gone it's adobe flash

if not you will want to do this experiment with each available checkbox in ccleaner (note if you choose the obvious ones first it actually makes the process smoother/faster try each of the internet explorer checkmarks one by one, then java, then temp files) until the items disappear.
