Hellbovine
Windows XP Service Pack 3 If you open the Scanner and Camera Wizard, and follow the steps to the "Picture Name and Destination" page, you will see 3 items, each with a pulldown list. I am trying to figure out how to "Clear" the 1st and 3rd lists, as there are tons of "Recently Used" names of files and folders in those lists, and I don't use most of them anymore. For more clarification here are posts by other people who have the exact same, unresolved issue: http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/scanner-and-camera-wizard/132851.html http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=9391 http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=94884 We can clear the #1 Picture Names list by deleting the WIA MRU's, however the #3 My Pictures Locations is unresolved. *Crap Cleaner, Disk Cleanup, and MRU-Blaster all fail to clear this list. Perhaps this could be included in future Crap Cleaner updates, since it fits right into what Crap Cleaner does? Thanks for you help everyone! ishan_rulz
Could you put up a screen shot for me if that is not a problem? Simplicity is hard.
Hellbovine
This is the MRU I'm trying to clear. The first drop down on the list (1. Type a name for this group of pictures) can be cleared by deleting this entire registry MRU folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WIA\WiaAcquisitionManager It is re-created again upon re-start, but now the lists are cleared. However, I can't figure out how to clear the (3. Choose a place to save this group of pictures) drop down list. Also it's really easy to get to this page, just go to "My Computer" double-click on your printer, select "Scanner and Camera Wizard" and just hit "Next" until you get to the page from the screenshot. Hellbovine
I tried that, and it didn't seem to affect this at all. I think because these MRU's are related to the "My Pictures" folder and not the "Save As" feature of Windows.
