Incomplete File Cleaning

Recommended Posts

I've checked most of the Windows and Applications boxes so that CCleaner will get rid of most unnecessary files, esp those from IE8 and FF. I then run the analysis, and get (for ex) 60MB to be deleted. I then run the Cleaner and find that only 6MB gets deleted. So where are other 54MB that I thought CC would delete? And if I run the analysis again, I get zero to delete...so maybe I really did get the full 60MB? What's going on? [i've reinstalled, redownloaded, and restored...it's been this way thru several versions of CC] Thnx

Also the Size Amount in Analysis is an estimatation and may shift when running cleaner

Make sure firefox is completely killed (Check Task Manager to be sure there is no firefox.exe listed)

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
