installing v2.33

I'm a very unsophisticated computer user.

 

I've been trying to update to v2.33 from v2.28 but have not been able to do so. I'm running windows xp and firefox.

 

When I try to update a get a small "window" asking if I want to "save" or "cancel". When I choose "save" I get a blank "download" screen and the a little light on the front of my computer blinks a couple of times and nothing further happens.

 

I've tried to download with the firewall disabled. I've also now "uninstalled" v2.28. I've used both the filehippo and the piriform.com sites with the same result.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of FF? any downloader addons? what if you rightclick the download link and choose save as?

 

Most of our members (not me ) use firefox as their main browser

I don't know from where you are downloading v2.33 — v2.31 (April 26) is the latest official version according to http://www.piriform.com/blog/2010/4/26/ccleaner-v231.

LOL Good call, I didn't even realize they had an incorrect version Number
