It has been my experience that attempting to do a system restore from anything other than the latest restore point is a very dangerous proposition. That is why I always use the option available when selecting the Properties option you see when you right-click on a hard drive icon. Just go to Tools>System Restore. Here is a screenshot in this link... In my opinion, its better if you can choose specifically which restore point must be removed such as those that were created in system events with less significance. It leaves intact the various copies that were made when files were deleted, otherwise when restoring to an earlier R.P. there would be no way to resurrect the deleted files.
