Mr. Bill
Hello, First I would like to say ccleaner is the only one that has helped my PC. The first time I ran the cleaner it removes all my ID's and passwords. Can you tell me what not to check off so if I run the cleaner again it won't remove them again. I also have a problem with my recovery"D" disk space. Is there anything the cleaner can do for this problem? I'm sorry but I'm and ID 10 T. Moderators Andavari Posted November 3, 2009 Moderators Share Posted November 3, 2009 it removes all my ID's and passwords If you're referring to websites you visit that would be the browser cookies that remember site settings. You can do this to protect the cookies you wish to keep: Log into your websites so they save your login information and cookie your computer. Go into CCleaner's: 'Options->Cookies' On the left side you'll see 'Cookies to Delete', now click the button in the middle -> to move those cookies into 'Cookies to Keep'. Now if it's a video game site where you play an online video game that would most likely be an Adobe Flash Player setting/cookie that's being removed by CCleaner, you can do this to keep Flash content: Go into CCleaner's: 'Cleaner->Applications' (tab) Scroll down to 'Multimedia' and untick Adobe Flash Player. As for CCleaner repairing some issue on your drive D that's not possible. If it's a disk space issue such as it being reported incorrectly you could run Windows built-in Check Disk utility on it to "repair errors," or if the problem is too severe obtain a recovery partition rebuild disc from your PC manufacturer to completely rebuilt that partition. Moderators Nergal Posted November 3, 2009 Moderators Share Posted November 3, 2009 also exclude, if you are using ie8, this C:\Users\{YOURUSERNAME}\AppData\Local\temp\Cookies\*.dat and uncheck index dats under internet explorer in ccleaner ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
