CCleaner and write protect error

Hi there,

I have some write protected hard drives on my computer. Every time I run a CCleaner clean, this error box pops up several times:

Also there doesn't seem to be way of excluding whole drives from the cleaning operation.

Thanks,

Chris

Great product BTW :)

Hello aauser,

Welcome to the forums !!! :D

What are the options that you are using?

Are you requesting "Secure delete" option?

Are you requesting CCleaner to empty your Recycle Bins ? What happens if you turn this option off ?

Are you using the Include option ?

Tell us more about your set up, PC OS, etc.

As davey started,

CCleaner only cleans the system drive (unless using includes) so I'm not sure why it is trying to clean something on drive F, unless it is your system drive.

On the same tip of includes you can use excludes to tell CCleaner not to clean your protected files.

If turning off Recycyle Bin doesn't work: Try Turn off all check marks, and slowly adding each check mark one-by-one and running clean (after each check mark) until the message comes up, please then report back with which box it was so we can help more.

EDIT: is F a hidden drive (such as one made by TrueCrypt)?

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
