Include & Exclude in advanced option

I was wondering if CCleaner can be set to empty a folder but to exclude one of the file in that folder.

Example if I were to add a folder in the Include section of the Advanced Options to be emptyed but set only one file from that folder to be excluded.

Advice would this work or will the whole folder be emptyed.

Yes, just set the file(s) to keep in the 'Files and Folders to Exclude' list.

Note: Using the 'Analyze' button only, you can perform as many tests you like,

nothing will be deleted. :)

I've no idea, why not try it?

Just tested.

Moreover, manually editing CCleaner.ini i can use some regular expressions

Eg.

Include1=PATH|C:\My Documents\MyFolder\*.jpg

will delete all the .jpg files in MyFolder, leaving all other file types untouched, if any.

Hello,

I would be very interested to not only be able to define a folder or a file to be deleted, but to define a file pattern and a start folder, from which to delete the defined files, including sub-directory.

e.g.

delete all files with extention TMG, starting in directory C:\FILES\
