SteveMak
It appears that CCleaner v2.11.636 does not clean out all specified folders as instructed. I have instructed CCleaner to empty the following folders, and I am running this from an Administrator account on Windows XP SP3: Options -> Include: C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Recent\*.* C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Recent\*.* My objective is to be able to empty all accounts' temp files and "recently used documents" shortcuts from the Administrator account. CCleaner reports no errors, but does not empty the specified directories.
Moderators Augeas Posted September 10, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 10, 2008 When you run Analyse, does the text window list the full address of each file in the folders to be cleared? (I assume that Custom Files and Folders is ticked?)
SteveMak
When you run Analyse, does the text window list the full address of each file in the folders to be cleared? (I assume that Custom Files and Folders is ticked?) Thank you for your quick reply! Your assumption was right on the money, and it pointed to a SUE (Stupid User Error). I had mistakenly understood "Custom Files and Folders" to mean customizations done to files and folders in the user interface, such as custom icons on folders, etc. Once I selected the Custom Files and Folders check box, CCleaner works as expected. Sorry for wasting everyone's time. I am suitably shamed by my error.
