Moderators hazelnut Posted May 30, 2008 Moderators Share Posted May 30, 2008 To my knowledge CCleaner does not touch restore points. Is it just the last one missing or all of them? Because vista uses a lot of space for restore points and when it reaches it set limit it will start deleting them to make space. deleage
I havent had any problems with restore points or shadow copies under Vista Business running CC. The only thing that comes to mind is the disc cleanup app in Windows has an option to clear all but the most recent restore point. Are all of your restore points missing or only a few/one specific? Are you using any other disk or file wipe tools/utilties? Are you dual booting XP & Vista? Some system restore issues can be solved by disabling (clearing all restorepoints) and turning back on and creating a fresh restore point. All the restore points desappered except the last one I don't use dual boot i have only Visata If you can help me i would be happy

If you are auto starting CCleaner at system boot ,try turning that option off and only run CCleaner manually.See if this makes a change. Did you at any time try to change the allocated size for System Restore? I am not suggesting that you do this. But did you ever try to do it? THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT THE BEST SOLUTIONS POSSIBLE. These answers help to evaluate the situation. Just fill in the answers next to or below the questions. Provide a list of your CCleaner.ini file.( Tick option for Save settings to INI file at Options > Advanced then close CCleaner. This file will be created in C:\Program Files\CCleaner folder.) Are you using a winapp2.ini file? Answer "Yes"if you do and please explain its contents or provde a brief listing.Otherwise answer "No". Are you running with Administrator privileges.
