It does not fix the critical vulnerability in Internet Explorer. Microsoft needs to patch Internet Explorer, but at last check, they were not planning to. Mark Griesi is quoted in Infoworld saying ?We don?t feel that there?s an issue in IE, and therefore, there?s nothing to be fixed.? Mozilla recommends using Firefox to browse the web to prevent attackers from taking advantage of this vulnerability in Internet Explorer. http://blog.mozilla.com/security/2007/07/1...irefox-2.0.0.5/ http://surfthenetsafely.com/ieseczone.htm http://surfthenetsafely.com/ieseczone3.htm = Makes "My Computer" security zone visible http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;833633 APPLIES TO ? See if you can log in if you use Firefox safe mode, this will rule out an extension causing it (to open FF safe mode go to Start>All Programs, find Firefox in the list and it will have two options listed, one will be Firefox safe mode). Working ok for me with the video thing, and I've just had a trawl around Rolling Stone with no probs.
JDPower
No problems here either, not a single crash since the update (or for a while actually). Have watched a few YouTube and other embedded vids and just had a quick scan round Rolling Stone and all fine.
Moderators rridgely Posted February 13, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 13, 2008 Hmm.. I'm not sure. Its crashed like 5 times now by doing the same thing. I've played an embedded youtube video on one site and then went to rolling stone and they have videos with youtube there and then the browser crashes. I have the newest flash and everything. I'm not really surprised though, I've had pretty bad luck with ff 2 in the past.
