login123
Recently checked some files from a fairly new computer which had been protected by McAfee. AVG AntiSpyware found HotBar.exe hiding among some pictures. Out of curiosity, while in powershadow and sandboxie, I dbl clicked the file. SpywareGuard, of all things, caught it first. Attached are screenshots. Old PUP, caught by an old security app. I can't remember when SpywareGuard last updated. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers. lotse
I don't know why spywareguard is hardly ever mentioned here - its one of the first programs I install, along with spywareblaster. Its saved the day on a few occasions.
Moderators Andavari Posted November 5, 2007 Moderators Share Posted November 5, 2007 I don't know why spywareguard is hardly ever mentioned here Probably because it hasn't been updated with a definition file in years. It "may still be a valid guard for Win9x systems" since some newer anti-malware software won't even run on those older OSes.
