Microsoft Silverlight

Recommended Posts

Depends what you want from the web I suppose. Doesn't sound like anything I would ever want. It sounds like another platform to send endless junk and unwanted adverts at you. We already have Java, macromedia and a host of other annoying flashing toys at our disposal - this doesn't sound any different..

Each to thier own.

I tend to agree with your comments lotse. I can only imagine it will be some other rotating distraction that I'll end up having to block.

It's bad enough that so many sites depend upon Flash now I suppose some will jump ship over to Silverlight making it a necessary plugin that has to be installed to even visit some sites.

Downloaded and tried this.

Installs two .dll plugins in C: > Programfiles > Microsoft Silverlight, and nothing else it appears.

Would not work with Firefox, although it's supposed to.

Kept getting errors or blank pages.

Worked with IE, but from the Fox movie samples, and the sample videos on Silverlight website, it dosen't appear to be anything special.

Binned it I'm afraid, but of course, that's only MHO.
