CTskifreak
Hey guys...figured this was the best place to post this... On my account in XP home, I disabled the Language Bar toolbar, but every time I log onto my name, it always starts. I always un-check it, to no avail. Now, AIM 6.0 is doing the same thing, even though a while ago I told it to not start up with Windows. You guys have any idea what I could do??? The most drastic thing I could think of was that I back up all of my files, delete my account and then recreate it... but there has to be a simpler answer... Thanks, AJ
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 29, 2007 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2007 Is this what you did with AIM? To prevent AIM 6.1 from loading at Windows startup, choose "Edit > Settings > Sign In/Sign Out". Remove the check mark from "Start AIM when Windows starts" and click "Save". CTskifreak
That is exactly what I did. However, whenever I log into my name, that has started to pop up, along with the Language Toolbar. AJ
MikeW
The language tool bar will be started by IE7 if you have more than one language in your regional settings, even if you have disabled it. Moderators hazelnut Posted April 29, 2007 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2007 You could always try start-run and type msconfig then click ok. Under the general tab put a dot in selective startup. Click the startup tab and remove the tick from the AIM checkbox if it is listed. Click OK and restart. You should still be able to launch manually from programs menu. To reverse changes just go back and recheck box and reboot. As with all changes make sure you make backups to your system. CTskifreak
Well..I got the AIM problem fixed.... I was restarting my PC and it wasn't going, so I turned off the power strip. I booted back up, and AIM didn't load. But the language bar thing is annoying. It is only on my name, not my brother's or parents'. Can you explain more fully what I should try to do?
