First of all, can you tell us what are you using it for because it is hard to find a freeware image that include all the features? Acronis true image,for example, has many features such as partition, back up and free zone thingy-which is very useful, on the other hand, Gpart can only partition and convert different type of file systems. another one i used before is xclone, (don't rememeber if the name is right)- but you have to have a 2nd hard drive so it can make a ultimate copy, like a back up. Yeah, and also unbuntu. personally, I vista is between. When it comes to appearance ,vista obviously better, others are the same. If you are a business person, i think you should get vista because it probably more secure and more opion choices for networks. Unbuntu's wireless network is execelent too!

here are my suggestions . First, I think we should list the best that are nessesary for everyday use, such as openoffice, CCleaner,xpcdburn, avast, paintnet and spyware terminator, ect.. secondly, i don't think it is important to inform user that new version is came out because if they are actutally using the program then it will inform the user. hope that help

good news your!! for those that have seagate or maxtor hard drive you can get acronis true image home for free- V.10, go to the hard drive's website and it will be list somewhere in the download section. I got one for my computer-I was searching for my hard drive's firmware when stumbled on it, what a luck!!! but i don't really use it. Thought that it would works if i brought it over to my laptop but it turned out to get an error that i need a seagate or maxtor hard drive- lol, i knew it would not works but thought it is worth to try. I think acronis is really good cause i had used before- especially with the recovery on start-up thingy.

Speedfan is a great great free application. Though, you have to install it, which worthed. Another one is knew is hard drive inspector which is commercial but it is really good too! My Hard drive's temperature is 111f- maximum that i had seen(laptop) Core 0 is 86-93f, core 1 is tabout the same. temperature1 is 120f, which i think it talkings about the overall temperature Can anyone verify that my laptop temperature is normal? i think it is. Can moderator move this to hardware?

Hello!!, could anyone please help me figure out my wireless connection problem; it connected with 3 bars and only said" Access: local only, it supports to say ' access: local and internet' in order to connect to the internet. Strange thing though, sometime it ables the search the net if i put work offline, but only one time though, if i click on anything it pop up a box said that i need to connect to the internet and if i put offline again it won't works. click on connect then it won't works because it need to say local and internet- little icon that has two small computer at the bottom right corner .any help would be appreciated

don't be offend by my opion but i think the freaking automatic scanning is really annoying. In addition, Avast and Avg are good antivirus. As long as you doing the right thing on your pc, i would rarely scan my pc. Furthermore, antivirus automatic detect viruses so .

Believe me, most manufactores don't have the lastest updates. One of the reason i think is because so they could sell to other corporations such as driver genuis professional, driver magian, driver detective and driver guide. All those are commercials. Driverguide.com is awesome only if you paid, but you could get most the drivers for free though.
