A bit out of CCleaner's area IMO and RAM cleaners usually ain't very useful (except maybe CleanMem).
-
You probably have 1600 (MT/s) which is = 800MHz.
Which Speccy version are you using?
You could check/confirm your RAM speed from BIOS.
-
There is also a newer version available (v2.14.706)
-
Also direct support from Piriform.
-
Have you closed your browser before cleaning? Which browser are you using?
-
Which CCleaner version are you using? Do you use Winapp2.ini file?
Do you have SSD or HDD?
-
I've used it actively probably approx 10 years or so.

R.I.P. Windows Live Messenger. Forced migration to Skype begins today.
Actually in here WLM stopped working approx. yesterday morning
Skype chat sucks.

Well, maybe a Windows reinstall or a new PC is the best (and easiest) option here.
Edit. for further testing you could install the HDD into different PC and boot in safemode -> scan with MBAM etc.
Also you could run HDD test on it.

Could C:\Windows directory be corrupted somehow (or HDD malfunctioning)? Have you tried defragging or running chkdsk? How about sfc/scannow?
Is it laptop or desktop? Which OS?
Edit. oh and does it have SSD or HDD?
-
Well, not really. I can check that tomorrow or next week.

Thing is there are malicious websites that use a mistyped URL to snag unsuspecting users.
I can handle those.

I've just noticed ABP will automagically correct typos in some URLS (eg. Faacebook.com to Facebook.com)

Shumway
I didn't enable it. It asked if I'd want it enabled some time ago when I mistyped some URL.

I'm kind of surprised that McAfee stays in business to be honest. I don't know anyone who runs it, and I rarely hear anything good about it.
Corporations/businesses.

Thanks!

There's already entry for WLSetup temps:
[Windows Live Setup Temp Files*] LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Live Default=False FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Microsoft\WLSetup|*.tmp

Thanks!

Heard them too much (plays on the radio pretty often) and seen a few times live (on festivals).

Desktop all the way. Wouldn't even consider replacing it with laptop. Replacing desktop with tablet wouldn't even cross my mind.

Did you use Secure Deletion or Duplicate File Finder? Do you have SSD or HDD? You could use your PC for a few days + reboots and see if the slowness goes away "by itself".
-
Doesn't seem like a ("big") bug IMO. MSE could lock the latest/most recent file or use better location/file type for "settings".

Oh okay. Release notes for v20.0.1 https://www.mozilla....1/releasenotes/
I've noticed that since v20 I can't keep just my browsing history; If it's ticked, it'll also rememeber/keep download history (which I don't need to be remembered). :i
Is there some option in about:config to not to keep download history and only the browsing history?
Like I said, I don't want my download history to be saved/remembered. I do want my browsing history saved/remembered.
anyone object to my furthering this thread by changing the title to "The Firefox/Mozilla Thread"
Nope. Easier to discuss about FF/Palemoon/Waterfox etc.
-
Just checked and Waterfox is still in v18.0.1 (last update January 19).
Does anyone know if there's a tweak/fix for my "problem" with browsing history/download history?
