I love ConTEXT. Works for so many things.

It's usually cookies and such that are retained, even history. Make sure everything relating to the browser is checked.

Looks awesome to me. I think someone else has a bad video card/monitor.

TransIcon: This does exactly the same as TransText, but is WAY smaller and more flexible. It uses a tweak to make the background color of the text below desktop icons transparent, and exits. The effect should last until the next boot, so a shortcut to this program in your Startup folder works perfectly. Needs command line parameters (add them to the 'Target' field in the shortcut) to specify the color you want the icon text itself to be in the form of hex values (e.g. FFFF00), RGB (e.g. 16711935) or words (e.g. white). Note: this program is not useful on Windows XP, since that has support for this tweak natively.

Merijn's website has a great thing for transparent icon stuff. It's called TransIcon and works just fine. Also check out Windows 9x Revolutions Pack (Actually makes 9x/ME look like XP)

It is an issue though, as it causes damage to certain parts of the profile.

Last I heard they removed the download because it was so buggy and unstable. Just get rid of it for the time being.

Sounds like your tray guard may have messed up CCleaner by stopping it from deleting your Recent Documents. Try closing the tray guards and running CCleaner.

*.bak and *.gid are generally safe to go.

Try looking under the Applications tab.

I tried it and didn't like it because you see absolutely nothing that is being deleted. It just goes through and deletes. They need to fix it a lot before I'd use it like CCleaner.

Sounds like it cleared it from the internet's temporary cache files. I got that from here. Right off the java.sun.com website. Go ahead and save and install it. It's the newest version. CCleaner has never messed with Java in Firefox, I've never used it in IE though. If you believe it was from fixing a registry issue, did you make backups?
