  1. Is there an easy way to include Slimjet Browser in Ccleaner Enable browser monitoring?  I would like to clean Slimjet on closing, but can't seem to find a way I can use to do this. I know about cc enhancer and   winap.2 but can't seem to make them show popup cleaner after closing slimjet.  I do have Firefox and Google Chrome Browsers also installed.  Appreciate any suggestions.

  2. +1  (didn't think it was worth opening a new topic, when we had a perfectly good, old one to dust off)  :)

@nergal, no sadly, just tried it with a CustomLocation for Slimjet and it's not auto cleaned by Monitoring.

so this would be a good feature to get with a Pro license.

now with the proliferation of Chrome and Firefox clones I for one would welcome this feature.

I am having the same problem - Slimjet is not listed.  Please advise how to add it.  Thanks

  3. I am running Version 5.35.6210 (64bit) Professional on Windows 10 Version 1703 OS Build 15063.632.  Today, CCleaner started hanging on empty recycle bin and will not complete.  Recycle bin shows empty but CCleaner hangs and I have to go to Task Manager to stop CC running.  If I uncheck Empty Recycle Bin, it runs ok .   I did install Windows Update KB4034674 today, and am not sure if that created the problem.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Is it a bug with regard to the new Windows 10 update?

  4. For the second time CCleaner has crashed my pc - I installed the update two days ago and it happened.  Thinking maybe it had been corrected in a revised update, I tried again today and it happened again.  I have used CCleaner for years and really liked it, but this is too much - there is something BAD wrong with it at present.  I am really disappointed but that's it for me.  I just don't have the patience to go thru this each time I try to update.  I now don't trust the program so I have uninstalled it for the last time.  Thankfully I had an image on Macrium Reflect.  My System was completely screwed up as a result of installing CCleaner and I had to restore it to last week image in Macrium.

  5. when i logged into my computer running windows 8.1.. it came up that there was an update available for ccleaner .. i accepted .. what i got was my homepage hijacked and a couple of programs installed that i was not asked about one of them was linkey and another manager program.. i was able to uninstall them and got the junk out BUT i never expected this with ccleaner!! so beware folks if u r told an update is available!

Same thing here - and I fell for it unfortunately.  Then I also had to deal with automatic startup of CCleaner and monitoring by CCleaner - totally unacceptable.  Took about nan hour to clean up the pc - including uninstall of CCleaner.  Got a blue screen in the process.  I'm through with CCleaner .  I just don't need any more problems from an unnecessary program, even if it is free.  Thanks, but NO THANKS.

  6. Well, they just lost one of their older customers,, not to a rival product, but just because of  the addition of monitoring my pc systems .  Had a bad time uninstalling from one pc but got it all straightened out - the other uninstalls went fine.  I just couldn't adjust to the icon appearing in  my taskbar repeatedly and the futility of trying to remove it and trying to stop CCleaner from running at startup. What a mess!  Had to run DISM and SFC Scannow to get them back in the condition they were before CCleaner 4.18.4842.

Good luck folks, I just don't have time to mess with it.  And, I really don't need it.

  7. ver. 2.14.705 is running much slower on Windows 8 for me also - extremely slow to the point that it's not useable. Also, much slower on my XP PC. Seems like a completely different program since update to 2.14.705.

I uninstalled it and went back to ver. 2.13.670, which runs much, much faster.

  8. MSE was telling me I was potentially unprotected because a scan had not recently been run. All other aspects (real time protection, etc. ) were functioning.

MSE uses logs to determine if scans have taken place. Just like any other program would do. For you to say these are "obsolete" if in fact they serve a purpose is wrong. CCleaner deleted those logs so as far as MSE was concerned no scan had taken place.

I vote against CCleaner on this one.

I agree.....I vote againt CCleaner on this also. It took me some time and effort go figure out what was happening. I'll look more closely at CCleaner on future updates to see what they are adding which might automatically cause problems.

  9. CCleaner deletes the log files from scans made by MSSE. To disable this behavior, deselect the MS Antimalware option under Applications -> Windows

Thanks for the info - I was experiencing this on both my XP and 7 pc's and even contacted MSE about it. I have now disabled MS AntiMalware as you suggested - will watch it to see if I get any more yellow icons on MSE indicating I need a scan (when I really don't). Thanks.

  10. Running CCleaner's Registry "Scan for Issues" identifies the .MSC extension as unused and marks it for removal. This is incorrect - removing the .MSC extension prevents the user from running things like services.msc or the Manage function from My Computer. For now, I have put it in the excluded list. Hopefully this will be corrected in next update. Thanks.
