  1. Ctrl+F is implemented in opera cept it's a bit diffrent from Firefox. it practically does the same thing(search with every key typed) but it doesnt show a toolbar like Firefox does. instead it changes the Search Bar(near the address bar) to use "Find In Page" instead of Google or w/e the search thing is.

  2. Good! I'm not the only one who hates it. I had it literally make a CD-RW unusable! I used it to burn a few files onto a brand new RW, and it crashed or something in the middle of it (I don't remember what the exact issue was), but anyway I tried several different burning apps to attempt to erase the disc, and it just didn't work; the apps all acted like there was no disc!

i accually did that too. i needed the CD for school so that i could copy all my music to the comp at school. but then i couldnt access it neither on the iMac at school or at home. i also noticed that the filesystem of the CD is RAW instead of ISO which is what it is supposed to be.

  3. I love it! I don't know what LE5 Black and ObjectDock Plus means. How did you do that?

LE5 is a skin for windows. it means Luna Element 5. ObjectDock Plus is the thing that's on top. makes the desktop cleaner since i dont have icons everywhere.

  4. I don't understand why WMP doesn't work. I've never had a problem with it (and I don't use a Nero Burning Plugin).

I've tried all that englishman suggested, and WMP is still my favorite.

    K

it when it finishes "converting" all the media files, it starts to do the burning. the problem is that it burns some of the files but then stops and says that there's an error with the CD. i know it's a problem with WMP because other programs burn the CDs just fine.

anyways for right now im sticking with CDBurnerXP Pro. it seems to offer a lot of options.

  5. I thought that Command Prompt wasn't case sensitive. Perhaps I was wrong? I know that with folders and files, case doesn't matter.

it's case sensitive because that's the way the program was made. IIRC, Case Insensitivity can be accomplished using LCase in VB

  6. right now i am in need of a good CD Burner for my computer. previously i used Nero 6 but i didnt like it because of the fact that it was so bloated(it took about 1GB out of my HD's free space). so right now im searching for a new one because i dont like using Windows XP's built one and Windows Media Player(because the burning doesnt work even if use the Nero Burning Plugin or not). right now im thinking of using CDBurnerXP Pro but i think i'll wait untill the .NET version becomes stable(i love the .NET Framework :))

  7. @JohnDemolition

    about registration i Sygate:

just restart your PC and on boot you just fill in fields (if i remember in free version, Sygate is asking for e-mail and Name only!?) but do that when you are not connected on internet and that is all! No more boring pop up to register!

i already stated in a few posts back that i did register and now it doesnt show up anymore

  8. lol. i dont think it's illegal to gather info about them because you are using a website to gather where he lives and all that stuff. according to the logs, the website is "rwhois://rwhois.verio.net:4321/"

but portscans arent really a big issue if you have a good firewall. i think that sygate accually blocks the portscan but im not sure.

  9. <sarcasm>you could prolly hack em via bash shell. of course if the government catches you...</sarcasm>

well i guess nothing really. but you could take action in some way if you want to :P. maybe portscan the person :P.

  10. well yahoo isnt that bad. they offer enough storage space, file attachment space, a decent spam blocker, and they also offer Norton AntiVirus which is kinda nice.

you can also use POP with it via a program called YPOPs :).

but yeah i dont think ima quit using GMail. i've stuck with it for too long :)

  11. i cant say i like it better than ZA. it's just the only good firewall that's working for me right now.

ok i just registered for the heck of it and the nag screen seems to have dissapeared. thank god i didnt need to buy the firewall.

anyways it's really a nice firewall. it lets you know when you are being portscanned, hijacked, and other important stuff. it also lets you backtrace the portscan which means you can find out who portscanned you and from where. really nice.
