i cant use the Windows Firewall. malware f***ed it up and i cant start the ICS service.

allright i guess it's time to post this because i've been getting pissed with ZoneAlarm lately. currently, im using 5.5.094 which i've never upgraded because of some unstability issues that i've heard about with the new releases. right now, ZoneAlarm sucks in saving the changes that i make to programs. what i mean by this is that when set to always allow a program, it asks me to do it again when i restart the comp or when i shut down zonealarm on my own.
so does anyone know of a really good firewall that i can use? also it has to be freeware cause i dont want to pay
edit:just got reminded. another reason i dont want it is because vsmon.exe(ZoneAlarm service) leaked a LOT of memory and went up to 118K memory usage. windows then alerted me that i was running our of physical memory(i have 512MB RAM)

what happens is this. when i open CCleaner and i'm downloading something, it connects to the website first to check the current version. when it does that, it doesnt show the Window untill after it times out.
edit:i wait at least 20 seconds for the Window to show up

wasnt VistaXP for WindowBlinds only? cause i couldnt find a msstyle for it(when it was around).

you could also remove em using a program called AutoRuns(by Sysinternals)

no i mean if you click in the middle of the preview place. not the tab but the middle of it.

If you open it, click on the Preview place where it shows the current login. when you click it, it errors.

this is my desktop.
it uses the Royale theme, ObjeckDock Plus, and yeah that's pretty much it. on the right side of ObjectDock, i pretty much put all of the important programs
.edit:the Recycle Bin is on the desktop because i dont know how to get it out of there and pdncrash.txt is just something made by Paint.NET when it crashes.

i use SPAMFighter and it accually works pretty good. i use a very old version because if i dont, it wont work with OE but yeah.

yeah microsoft are a bunch of a**holes. they remove every thing that's good in the world.

it's diffrent on some computers. i just guessed it was f1 cause i pressed all the f keys while i was trying to get in safe mode to replace the uxtheme.dll file(didn't work but its fixed).
Yours is... abit smaller though. No big deal there. Lucky 6GB but who the heck has that much music?!

i dont like it. it always asks me whether to allow a program to let it execute a program(whether or not it uses the inet) and the interface is a bit sloppy.
