then get on Linux . i have seen some unpopular pdf readers made in java and other languages for windows. but i didn't bother to use them.

Heh, good point!
I have been looking at alternatives, unfortunately not really been able to find any.
The Adobe one is horrible, it takes forever to load and use much memory and is slow. I hate it.

i got to the main site. it looks like it got a new look
it also looks like the made the reader available for Linux and other OSes.
i also found this interesting. http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/pricing.htm
the regular reader(not the Pro version) can be obtained at the Download section of the new website .

pfff. Opera has everything i need. extensions just increase memory usage and slow down load time. Opera also has UserJS which extends functionality by a huge margin. i also found CustomizeGoogle and Googlepedia for Opera .
but let's not get this too off-topic. someone test the builds.

i tried it but i didn't notice any diffrence. i only used a little bit because i was just puking by using it. i'm still staying with Opera.

this guy made optimized versions of Firefox and Thunderbird using MMX, SSE, SSE2, SS3, and for a couple of more cpu instructions. so anyone feel like testing them and checking to see whether they are faster than the regular firefox or not?
edit:forgot link.

found this while i was browsing Softpedia. i mean i know it's a beta, but it acted like crap on my comp. anyways, it's a program which will let you know if your computer is ready to run Vista or not.
anyways, it complained that i didn't have enough space for Home Basic(i have 13GB free space currently and it needs 15GB). well, since home basic is going to replace some system files, then why bother giving me a warning like that? it also asked me to upgrade my Logitech drivers via Windows Update and uninstall the NetVidia firewall before going to Vista. the funny thing is that my Logitech drivers are up-to-date. it also complained about a few other things.
also, another bad thing about the program is that it SLOWWWED my computer by a big margin. so use if you have a LOT of memory. 512MB doesn't cut it

...that makes no sense. if it spins way too much, then it'll explode. it's happened before when some guy tried doing it at 56x writing speed.
-
why would he be joking? i've seen cds overheat and explode before.

yup its 1024 by 768. ill add a screen shot.
heres a screen shot:
if by jagged you mean ugly, then that's an easy fix. from the looks of things, your display is set to display 16-bit content which looks ugly for very modern icons. to fix this, right click on an empty space in the desktop and click Properties. after that, check the Settings tab and find Color Quality in there. after that, set it to 32-bit if you can.

meh. not to my ears. in fact, not even 320kbps is transparent to me.

why mp3? don't you like lossless?
as for windows, same goes for me. i'm planning to move to Linux. hell, i even installed Kubuntu the other day(still need to customize it though). however i might consider getting a Mac because those things are pretty damn fast.
i don't like the idea that Opera doesn't support them. and no, not all computers have word. i use AbiWord and KOffice(when i'm on Linux). but nevertheless, having a web app is stupid. my upload speed is only at 45kB/s so uploading a huge file is not that fast.I personally don't like the idea of applications being web based. Just the fact that its in a web browser annoys me because of the interface. Its like having a program inside of a program(which I guess it is. ) and the interface becomes clunky. If they plan to do this they need to make a special viewer/browser that makes these web applications look just like ones on your computer. Writely is cool but every computer I use has word on them so there is no incentive to use it. -

...do you even know what you're saying? there's no way to change which HD is the slave and which is the master in the BIOS. you can only change which HD(or CD of Floppy) boots up first. the only way to change which drive is the slave/master is to change the placement of the cables.
as for how to change them from master to slave and vice versa, just take a look at the long cable which is connected to the HDs and switch around the HDs that it goes into. that's what i did and it worked like a charm.

offtopic: Rogers is an evil ISP. they do everything they can to throttle BitTorrent traffic. someone needs to sue them.

the thumbs.db file is only for folder thumbnails(erm the preview thingy). i'm talking about when you open the folder and set it so that it views as thumbnails.
as for the kelly's corner thing, .ico wasn't even listed there.

and Ultimately makes AbiWord slower. i personally have the good plugins which are actually useful and deleted the ones that i deem useless. and currently, AbiWord loads faster than OpenOffice
