  1. RK Launcher's latest nightly build. i've had too many problems with other dock programs, so i'm sticking with RKLauncher.

just a few notes. on my system, RocketDock flickers when it stops hovering. it also injects a dll into every program and doesn't tell you if it's active... quite useless IMO.

as for ObjectDock, i just don't like it because it's shareware. the free version is fine, but i just like RKLauncher a little better. RKLauncher has support for ObjectDock docklets anyways.

  2. versions 6x have been known to do that. i know i had that error. when i did, it froze my internet which was not good at all. get another firewall until the ZoneAlarm peeps can fix it.

  3. thank god that i don't have to use IE anymore. Opera with the Neptune plugin works brilliantly for Windows Update.

my dad uses IE but w/e. he'll probably hate IE7

edit: btw, i prefer Avant Browser with the Windows Classic skin(since i don't have the themes service enabled) because it looks a little bit more professional. when i used Maxthon, the tab bar looked a little weird. for some reason, it had those dots that usually appear on Common Controls that are not locked.

  4. a Mac is a desktop isn't it? so i don't see how this is off-topic :P. anyways, here's mine. i made a few notable changes to the dock.

those images that i posted are very highly compressed. i doubt that you can make smaller versions of them, but meh.

also, does anyone know of any good Playing icons? the ones that i have are kinda boring...

  5. Yeah, this is old. But the NT series of operating systems (NT, 2000, XP) rarely crash or display a bluescreen.

they don't. when an important process is ended, Windows asks you to restart your comp so that it can be restarted again. that messagebox can be disabled so that a BSOD displays :P

  6. Admiral Ross is correct. however, using explorer in 16-bit mode makes all the icons look ugly. 2 to the power of 16(2^16) is equal to 65536 so that's how many colors you will get. 2 to the power of 32 however, gives you 68719476736 colors which makes the icons look better. it also gives transparency to the icons(not sure about this but i have some vista icons that had a white space on places where they were supposed to be transparent in 16-bit mode).

in any case, if you want a beautiful desktop, then just use 32-bits. most games today change the bit depth to 16-bit so that low-end systems can play the game. some may even change them to 8-bits[256 colors(think GIF)] so that you can play them. whatever the case, it's your choise.

  7. i think that you can change whether the start menu shows the icon text or not(the icons on the right side). i currently have it set so that is shows them. pretty beautiful theme, eh?

lol. you tried to crack it :P

actually, i was trying to uninstall it. it failed in a really evil way which caused the problems which i mentioned.
