  1. I've started to recommend the product, though I personally do not use it.

But don't be offended, I don't use any real time protection at all.  Just my Outpost Pro firewall.

I don't use none of that either. I just feel protected with FireFox and Windows Firewall. Can't forget about Avast! My settings on FireFox are well planned out and easy. I'm protected.... B)
  2. My Mobo is an Intel D875PBZLK with Dual CHannel DDR, Pentium 4 3.2 GHz, 800MHz FSB, with HyperThreading.

My current memory is Corsair PC3200-XMS DDR400 CL2, 2 512 sticks.  After booting up and opening Tuneup Utilities, I have 37% of the memory in use (AV, firewall, etc.).  This is without the internet open, and without playing any games or other memory intensive applications.

I'm thinking I should go to 2 gigs of memory.  I'm interested in getting memory that is at least as fast as my current memory - but also at least as stable, if not more so.  I don't need to overclock.

Is going to 2 gigs a good idea?  Should I get 2 more 512 sticks of the Corsair memory or start fresh with all new memory sticks?  Is there a better option (different brand, different specs) given my needs?

How many slots you have left? Heres what I searched up....

Note: That 1GB of RAM should be enough but... It depends on what you do.

CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory

Heres 2X 1GB sticks. GREAT DEAL! Hurry and buy it! CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory

Yet another Deal! price is good. Standard 1GB Stick. CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory

Note: That I'm searching up your RAM company that you have Installed. Having the same Company is a good way for standard Performance.

  3. Get zone alarm 5.5.094.000 here:

    http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/info...aseHistory.html

This version hasn't given me any problems and I have been using it for a pretty long time. The new version 6 is the one that is buggy.

Sygate in my opinion just isn't good enough. I have seen it fail too many times to trust it.

Note: unless you are under a Router there are no need for any FireWall. Plus+, Only way to get a vuris are Hacked is either using a Peer To Peer program or... going to some Website that is known for hackers and spyware. I have not had any problems on Windows. That included I'm networked with a Wireless 4 port NetGear MR814v.2 router. Having no trouble. I see that firewalls are a waste of Memory Usage
  4. I must say it's rather strange that the forum software doesn't automatically adjust for daylight savings time starting and ending. Anyways thanks for the heads up, I hadn't even noticed that I needed to change the setting.

I had to uncheck the thing and it fix it
  5. Sorry what is it:

Does it allow documents to be opened up more quickly?

Or is it simply called a quickstarter because you can right-click it and select a new open office document?

Or, is it a combination of both and allows a quick loading time of just the new open office document when you can right-click it?

    Which one?

It's the last one. Simple as that my friend ;)
  6. What does this startup do exactly? Does it allow documents to be opened up more quickly, or is it simply called a quickstarter because you can right-click it and select a new open office document? Or, is it a combination of both and allows a quick loading time of just the new open office document when you can right-click it?

Yes, thats what it mainly used for. I use it. All it really is, is a little program to open the program faster. I find it useful.
  7. I know this sounds stupid but it works. I did this on my sister's pc because she refused to use FF but now she dosen't know that she is. Here is a link:

    http://johnhaller.com/jh/mozilla/firefox_internet_explorer/

I didnt fool with all of that crap just the theme and the desktop icon.

lol, I'm going to do that on a friends computer one day! It will be funny.

I think thats a cool way to go. Making FF look like IE is kinda stupid yet fun.

  8. i was away and it was doing nothing

last question: Do you have it set to where your system goes on standby or.. any of that nature? if so, I've known it to do this. I once tapped my mouse and my system was on standby. the screen was blue and saying something on memory crash. if this does happen again worry and come back as others said ;)
  9. it was just on the desktop. my pc is a p4 2.8 512mb ram geforce fx 5200 soundblaster live sound card ummm xp. nething else??

Hmm... the blue screen just came on it's own? I'm not sure what the problem could be without know what you were doing at the time before the screen came up
  10. I have sudenly discovered on my IE 6 that if I look at a page for example the Wanaddo home page I have bits of the picture missing with parts of the "page cannot be displayed message" in places where text  or pix should be. Yet if I use mozilla fire fox I do not have problems!

    I would appreciate any assistance.

    Thanks

To you have Flash player 8 Installed? Flash Player 8/ShockWave
