  1. Also a fine article on ZDNet:

Upgrading to Windows 7 - Your questions answered!

Here are the base system requirements for Windows 7:

    1GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) CPU

1GB RAM for 32-bit OS, 2GB RAM for 64-bit OS

16GB hard disk free space for 32-bit OS, 20 GB for 64-bit OS

DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

    The rest: http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=5788

I thought the recommandation was 4GB?

  2. Try this: dowload CCleaner's setup to you desktop. Close your browser. Close all your anti-malware programs and you firewall. Then try again as suggested above. Remember to turn all AV back on.

By the way: malware can hinder installs. Have you scanned with a couple of anti-malware programs?

  3. When CCleaner runs one can right click on the animated icon in Tray and chose "Shutdown after Clean". It's actually easier to shut down the PC that way. CCleaner will do it all for you. Once the other users realizes this more of them will start using this function.

  4. Thanks for posting the suggestion. Usually Defraggler is not that heavy on resources. Perhaps a few extra measures would be of use - such as chkdsk and scannow. Extra anti-malware scannings also sounds advisable. There are several fine ones online with the ability to remove findings.

  5. Microsoft will have to do a lot of planning if they go ahead with 128-bit. The Vista example is scary. We all remember how the poor souls on Vista 64-bit were hauling and screaming for software but nothing was compatible i the beginning. And stupid Flash still don't have a version for 64-bit.

  8. Yes, it is a retro thing you have there. Flekkefjord L?rvarefabrikk a/s where it was made - according to the photos - does not exist anymore, Google told. Google Translate just got all these new languages a few months back. They doubled the numbers. Almost.

PS: I like your sense of humor! :D
