  1. I smashed my pagefile in 17 pieces and now Sysinternals PageDefrag wont detect it. What do I do? Defraggler says it's smashed and I believe it. I seem to recall that there is one other reliable freeware pagefile defrag program but I can't remember the name. Help and suggestions will be very much appreciated. :blink:

  2. Yep. And RealPlayer also can't play all Apple's stuff. QuickTime annoys me. I'm not all that annoyed with RealPlayer for some reason. It is possible to get RealPlayer of the start function and it's not bundled with an image viewer and a lot of other silly things.

    Thanks for answering. Perhaps the tech people from CCleaner will notice this thread and update the RealPlayer settings in CCleaner...

  3. It's probably a cleaning routine that just needs to be updated.

    So this will be updated in a future CCleaner version, your guess is?

    Other than that my trial of the new RP SP was an impressive one, albeit with many pro features missing which are easy enough to get in free alternatives.

    I like RealPlayer. Sort of. ;) I never had the pro version - not even as a trial. RealPlayer never gets it quite right. They improve and update but somehow they never get ahead. VLC, iTunes, WinAmp and others always manage to take big bites of the territory...

  4. I would like to delete RealPlayer's temp files and cookies. I did manage to find the settings for this inside RealPlayers unintelligent and heavy "Preferences" display/GUI or whatever they call that function but it would be so much more easy to let CCleaner do the job. Any chance of this in future CCleaner updates? :P

  5. I'd like to know a little about what's being developed. I realize that some of it can't be public knowledge. :P

    I was wondereing if there are any plans for scheduled functions in CCleaner and Defraggler? It would be nice if they could run by themselves via timer features. And realtime functions. Some features could run in the background and do some optimizing. Such as defragging when the PC is idle.

    That's basically the topic for this thread: what's cooking?

  6. How do I best defrag such advanced things? I use Sysinternals for the hyberfile, pagefile and a lot of system32 files.

    Then there is this command: Start -> Run -> type -> fsutil usn deletejournal /n c:

    This deletes $usnJrnl:$j that is instantly recreated by Windows but without the fragments.

    But what about $MFT? I need a trick for this one. Actually I would like to collect a complete list with solutions for all files, that needs special tools for defragmenting so please drop a post if you know about any. :P

    PS: I am of cause a devoted Defraggler user.

  7. It seems that it worked! The first test I did after the new cookies were in place inside CCleaner showed that I was indeed still logged into both my email and my bookmarks. Perhaps Google made some changes to this cookie when they released their new toolbars just a few weeks ago. Google Toolbar 5 came out of beta and a brand new Google Toolbar 6 was released in a beta version. The old cookie(s) was apparently obsolete?

    Thank you so much, DennisD! I'll keep you informed if I experience any changes. Thanks again. :D

  8. I have the new CCleaner. Got it yesterday. I have been looking into this myself. I'm not at all a novice at this but I'm also not an expert. This could be wrong but it seems to me that the bookmarks cookie can't be found in the cookie cache at all. It's sitting in temporary internet files?

    I access cache & cookies this way because it's the fastest way:

    Start -> Run -> type -> Shell:cookies

    Start -> Run -> type -> Shell:cache

    Have I gone blind or what is the matter here?

  9.

    and one or all of these cookies contain the Google Bookmarks login details.
    Then how come my bookmarks login is gone? Because I keep all the Google cookies. This only happens when I run CCleaner. This could be a Google issue, I realise. Not necessarily something CCleaner can fix.
  10. I'm on IE8 but I had the same issue with IE7. The way I see the problem is, that the bookmark cookie is not listed in CCleaner so I can't transfer it to the cookies to keep box. If I'm logged in to my bookmarks and my mail and then run CCleaner I stay logged into my Gmail but the access to the bookmarks is gone. I just type the login details again of cause but it's beginning to bother me. :P

  11. When I use my dearly beloved CCleaner it always deletes the cookie, that Google Bookmarks needs in order to stay open. The Gmail cookie stays put because I used the tool settings inside CCleaner to ensure that. But I can't figure out how to do the same for my bookmarks which I use all the time. So that's the question I'd like some help with: how do I permit the bookmark cookie to stay put?
