  1. Hi Cowboy.

I have NZ too. What did you find that you think they installed? I know they install everything in the background but I don't think I have anything bad right now.

Of course I don't really know what to look for.

    Thanks.

  2. It's a secret message from someone stuck on a desert island. They only had enough battery power for that message.

    :o

    :D:lol::D:lol::D:)

  3. wat if i dont want to shop online?

I used to have good luck at Compusa although I guess some people don't like them. They have a lot of sales and some good deals. Just make sure you read, follow, and keep track of rebates if you use them. A lot of stuff I bought there ended up being free or very low priced.

  4. Fluorescent Lamps

    Electric Blanket Thermostats

    Surge Protectors

    Tobacco Products

    Salt Substitutes

    Fertilizer

    Sports Drinks

    Bananas

    Lightning Rods

    Brazil Nuts

    Camping Lanterns

    35MM Camera Lenses

    Orange Cloisone Jewelry

    Glossy Magazines

    Kaopectate

    Kitty Litter

    Porcelain Teeth

So apparently if you have porcelain teeth and orange jewelry and are camping on a cold night with an electric blanket during a thunderstorm taking pictures of your surge protector next to a kerosene or fluorescent camping lantern while drinking Kaopectate with a sports drink chaser because you ate too many bananas and brazil nuts [coated with a salt substitute] and you light a cigarette while reaching for a glossy magazine at the exact moment your cat starts covering his poopie with kitty litter after he walked through a garden and got fertilizer on his paws you could accidentally start World War III.

  5. Owner goes to court to save attack cat

Even Prozac can't tame Lewis the six-toed cat

FAIRFIELD, Connecticut (AP) -- Janet Kettman says she and her neighbors on Sunset Circle are always looking over their shoulders in fear the stalker will strike again.

"He attacks from the back," Kettman said Monday. "You never see it coming. He has six toes on every foot, which constitutes a very formidable weapon."

Kettman said she was attacked twice by Lewis the cat, whose owner was due back in court Tuesday on a charge of second-degree reckless endangerment.

"Also, he gives out mixed signals," Kettman continued. "He would sidle against you and purr. You bend down to pet him and he'd attack you."

  6. I had the exact same problem and this worked for me:

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

    1. Remove the current signature file. To do this, click Start, click Run, type Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}, and then click OK.

    2. Open Windows Defender. To do this, click Start, click Programs, and then click Windows Defender.

    3. Check for new definitions. To do this, click the Help options arrow next to the Windows Defender Help icon, click About Windows Defender, and then click Check for Updates.

    This info is from support.microsoft.com.

    Hope this works for you.

  7. I consider myself to be a scientific and down to earth person so I would really prefer to believe in evolution. However, evolution in my mind can't explain the following:

I'm a green lizard sitting on a brown tree. I think to myself: "Gee, if I could turn brown I would be harder to see." Many years later I can change from green to brown, other colors, and back again when I need to.

I can understand evolution and natural selection favoring browner lizards over greener ones in an area with mostly brown trees. But the ability to change colors, either willfully or autonomically seems to be something that must be in some way given, rather than attained by evolution, natural selection, or wishfull thinking.

One of the more common responses to questions of how evolution or natural selection can cause such major changes in plants and animals is that it happens over millions of years. In my opinion, some of the changes and adaptations in nature may have evolved over the years to their present state, but in many cases what incurred the original appearance of an entirely new trait, ability, function, or adaptation has not yet been explained in a rational way.

  8. I just started using it today and so far I really like it. So far it's flagged two sites as yellow and one as red. These are sites I visit every day. After clicking on "View Site Details" it ends up the sites are flagged because people received excessive emails they considered spam after filling in an online form including their email address. It also lists the cookies the sites drop and has a chart indicating the safety of the links included on the web page.

I didn't notice any slow down.

Of course I'm on dialup so how much slower could it be...

  9. A prominent Republican on Capitol Hill has prepared legislation that would rewrite Internet privacy rules by requiring that logs of Americans' online activities be stored, CNET News.com has learned.

The proposal comes just weeks after Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Internet service providers should retain records of user activities for a "reasonable amount of time," a move that represented a dramatic shift in the Bush administration's views on privacy.

Instead of describing exactly what information Internet providers would be required to retain about their users, the Internet Safety Act gives the attorney general broad discretion in drafting regulations. At minimum, the proposal says, user names, physical addresses, Internet Protocol addresses and subscribers' phone numbers must be retained.

could anyone hook me up? thanks, ill give you an IOU, dont worry!

If you win the plasma TV and I win the free beer we can work something out! Of course I may get a four year head start on the beer drinking...

If you win the free beer and I win the TV maybe we can trade.

If I win both you may be out of luck.

  11. that sux, so my suggestion didnt work? i guess im no good at anything....

BUT I CAN CREATE MANY PROBLEMS THAT SOME OF YOU SEEM TO LAUGH AT AND HAVE FUN TRYING TO FIX!!!!!

From what I read and THINK I understand and from what Krit said in her post this can happen when a program is demanding exclusive access to a Temp file [ie the clipboard?] so your explanation was pretty close. I guess CCleaner could find the Temp file but wasn't being allowed to do anything with it which caused the error. So it's pretty much the same thing.

As far as causing or having problems with a PC other people laugh at; Join the club! EVERYBODY is a member LOL. It could be worse. If computers could laugh or make fun of us we'd never hear the end of it :P .

As far as saying you're no good at anything....

WRONG  ! You're learning a lot and so are we. Besides, you have your own personal thread!

    I'm jealous...

  12. I'm not sure if this is what he meant but I just figured out you can drag and drop a tab into Bookmarks to bookmark a page, which was a lot faster than clicking on all the steps needed.

    w00t! w00t!

    [i'm easily impressed, lol]

  13. Just looking around it looks like it may be a Visual Basic Runtime issue. The search results I looked at are here. One article that offered an explanation and a possible solution is here. The article refers to a program called QuoteWerks which is obviously not CCleaner but maybe it's relevant.

    Hope this helps :) .
