  1. - Microsoft released a new update to "improve the stability of the Servicing Stack". Is this the fix for the nagging Windows Update problem many Windows users have experienced since the second quarter of 2016 ?

For more info (Win 7 & Windows Server 2008 systems):
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3177467

I assume Vista & Win 8 users will have to install a similar update for their OS as well.

    - If this is the (final ??) fix for this nagging Windows Update problem then it's weird that this update/fix is considered to be "Optional". I think it should be considered "Important". Or is this a trail balloon to see whether or not this would solve this "Windows Update" problem ??

A thread from the "SuperUser" forum website on the topic of "Servicing Stack":

  2. Suggestion: Add a (separate) section that lists all the installed programs.

I know there are programs that are able to pull up what programs have been installed. One of these programs is regularly used to diagnose computer problems by the "Bleeping Computer" website.

  3. - Yep. Found another bug in CC v5.21. When I have selected the option called "Wipe Free Space" (in the "Advanced" pane) and nothing else then CC won't run that option. Only when I select a second option/tick a second box then CC will execute that "Wipe Free Space" option.

(Or was this done intentionally ???).

    - I continue to think that the "Wipe Free Space" box should be removed from the "Advanced" pane.

    - I also think that the "Drive Wiper" Screen should be expanded. Move the option "Wipe MFT free space" to the "Drive wiper" screen as well.

  4. - No, I know that it's a matter of determining where the left hand side of the screen is (including or excluding the Task Bar.).

    - I also know that some programs (part of the Windows OS) also don't perform such a check. E.g. Open CMD.exe and start fiddling with the window.

    - See the attached screenshot as well.

  5. - I wrote a guide on how to fix the "Windows Update" problem that's plagueing Windows users since the 2nd quarter of 2016.

    - Yes, Vista & Win 8 users also experience the same problem on their systems.

    - Suggestions to improve this guide are VERY welcome (Send me a PM, an email or post in this thread). Perhaps also the (english) wording of this guide can be improved ??

  6. - DF's algorithms to move files towards the end of the drive have something in common. (or is there only one algorithm ??). These algorithms don't move all selected files. There's something that interferes with these/this algorithm(s). I could imagine that DF fails to "protect" the part of the memory where all the file info is stored.

  7. - Ooooops. It seems that SPECCY is already able to detect .NET software versions v4.6. See the link below. But SPECCY doesn't make a distinction between versions v4.5, v4.5.1 and v4.5.2. In all three cases SPECCY simply reports "v4.5". SPECCY only reports the main version(s).

    - I still would like to see that SPECCY provides more details on that .NET software.

(I was trying to help someone on the "Sysnative" help forums and then this snapshot was posted).
