Well, um... This is kind of late... Anyway... Hope you guys all had a Merry Christmas, and I hope you guys all have a Happy New Year!
-
Oh... Didn't see that! At least the Red Fox was a likely candidate.

Maybe this link will help: http://www.ehow.com/how_5192660_do-windows...em-restore.html

Try making a topic in the Spyware Hell section of the forum, and tell Rorschach (current spyware mod) about the problems you're having. He can probably help you out. And try Hazelnut's instructions, that might allow you to install MBAM.
Also, could you get a screenshot of all the processes in your Task Manager, and post it in this topic? There might be a malware process running that is blocking you from downloading MBAM.

I've once again come to you guys for advice on IcedTech. Now here's my new question: How to I spread IcedTech? I don't think anyone reads it right now, and I have 0 readers on FeedBurner. Any suggestions how to spread IcedTech? I've also got a forum for it, of which I'm the only member.

Well, after my AV cycle, I ended up with MSE.

Have a look at this topic and follow the instructions: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=20120 I'm thinking you might be infected with something, since you can't run MBAM.

I think those red pandas are what they refer to as firefoxes.
Nope. I think what they're referring to are the Red Foxes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Fox

I saw this last Sunday in 3D with a friend. There is only one word to describe this movie: AMAZING! This movie is simply one of the best I've ever seen. I loved it!

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Ho ho ho! *You hear Santa yelling in the background* Aw come on! Who stole my sled? I'm serious, give it back!

Anyone have any good themes that they would recommend for XP? I'm getting bored of my current one, and I can't find another theme to replace my current one with.

Amazing!

This test is useless. All the versions they are using are outdated. Use NOD32 as an example. They are using version 2! As for AVG, they don't even have it on there. They're using the very, very old version Ewido which changed to AVG later.

You do NOT want to use ComboFix by yourself, unless you're advised by a trained malware fighter.

Merry Christmas to everybody at this forum!

Panda Cloud AV is also as light as Avira. It's also been proven to be one of the best free AV's out there. Got a 99.6% on a PCMag test!

Thanks Abu!

So you're denied access to just this reg entry? Here are two interesting tidbits that might work for you (both the same thing, one is more complex:
Start regedit with admin privileges and try taking ownership of the key:Right-click key > Permissions > Advanced > Owner tab.
The current owner will be listed. Where it says 'Change owner to'
select your name or Administrators, select 'Replace owner on sub containers and objects'
and Apply.
If it works you should be able to edit permissions now.
Run the Registry Editor program (regedit.exe) and navigate to the key. Right-click and select 'Permissions'. Then make sure that the Administrators group has 'Full Control'.

Use Panda Cloud AV. Not only is it one of the BEST freeware AVs, but you also don't have to update it, since it's cloud based. From my personal experience with it, I'd say go for it. I liked it a lot! It's also good for dial up users since there's no updating!
