  1. Modified Entry:  [snagit 10/11/12/13 Local Dumps*]

    -  Changed name of [snagit 12/13 Local Dumps*] to [snagit 10/11/12/13 Local Dumps*]

    -  Added Detect1=HKCU\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\10 & Detect2=HKCU\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\11

    [Snagit 10/11/12/13 Local Dumps*]
    LangSecRef=3024
    Detect1=HKCU\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\10
    Detect2=HKCU\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\11
    Detect3=HKCU\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\12
    Detect4=HKCU\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\13
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\TechSmith\Snagit\CrashDumps|*.*

    Remove:  [snagit 11 Local Dumps*]

  2. New Entry:  [Kaspersky Dump Files (.dmp)*]

    [Kaspersky Dump Files (.dmp)*]
    LangSecRef=3024
    Detect=HKCU\Software\KasperskyLab
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Kaspersky Lab\|*.dmp;*.dmp.stat;*.log

  3. So, i use

    FileKey1=x:\Portable\Mp3tag|Mp3tagError.log

    and delete the line

    Detect=HKLM\Software\Florian Heidenreich\Mp3tag

    because there is NO "HKLM..."  Mp3Tag:

    [Mp3tag Portable on X:*]

    LangSecRef=3023

    Default=False

    FileKey1=x:\Portable\Mp3tag|Mp3tagError.log

    The "Detect=HKLM\Software\Florian Heidenreich\Mp3tag"  should not be deleted.  It is in Detect=HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node... it does exist.

    This cleaning code works fine on my Windows 10x64 Pro systems with the free version of Mp3tag.

    [Mp3tag*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect=HKLM\Software\Florian Heidenreich\Mp3tag
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Mp3tag|Mp3tagError.log

    Note that LangSecRef in the code above has been changed from 3024 to 3023 as requested.

  4. I would like to propose that we stop adding items that reset user settings and other things such as window sizes, etc. back to DEFAULT.

    There is not anything much more frustrating than having to track down why settings will not stay set or windows that are sized to my preference will not stay set as I want them.  In my opinion this is not the function of CCleaner.  It is a junk/trash cleanup tool, not a utility to manage settings on user systems.

    Again, JMO  :blink:  But then again, it is a strongly felt opinion about this  :ph34r:

    And if the group accepts this "restriction", then please remove the following items from Winapp2.ini

    [MS Management Console More*]

    [stored Explorer View Settings*]

  5. Modified Entry:  [Action Center*]

    Removed RegKey1 and RegKey3  and removed Warning Message to stop resetting user settings for the Action Center

    [Action Center*]
    LangSecRef=3025
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\ActionCenterCache|*.*|RECURSE
    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Action Center\Providers\EventLog
    RegKey2=HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Security and Maintenance\Providers\EventLog

  6. It does exist on a Windows 64-bit system. Uncheck this entry in CCleaner, connect some flash drives a few times and check it after that.

    I tested and examined the registry on three different Windows 10x64 Pro systems after connecting and disconnecting 3 Sandisk Extreme Flash Drives, 1 WD Passport drive, and 1 Samsung T3 SSD.  The "KnownDevices" registry key was non-existent on all of these systems.  I know that AutoPlay was on because it opened File Explorer to show the device contents on all the USB 3.0 devices.  This is with Build 14393.693 and Insider Build 15042 of Windows 10x64 Pro.

  7. Modified Entry:  [AutoPlay Devices*]

    Added DetectOS=|6.2   The RegKey1 entry does not appear to exist in the Windows 10 registry.  At least it doesn't on my Windows 10x64 Pro systems.  There is a Settings>Devices>Autoplay setting provided in Windows 10.

    Edited on 27-Feb:  Changed DetectOS=|6.1 to DetectOS=|6.2

    [AutoPlay Devices*]
    LangSecRef=3025
    DetectOS=|6.2
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows
    Warning=This will clear out devices and drives from AutoPlay that you've connected to your computer.
    Default=False
    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\KnownDevices

  8. Modified Entry:  [Recent Items More*]

    Removed Warning message and removed FileKey1 to prevent removing user added/pinned items to the Quick Access of Windows 10 File Explorer.

    [Recent Items More*]
    LangSecRef=3025
    DetectFile=%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\customdestinations
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\customdestinations|*.*|RECURSE

  9. Or perhaps we could start a campaign to convince the developers of CCleaner to implement a "Delete on Reboot" option that could be used in the cleaning code.  Say call it |REBOOT| that could be used along side |REMOVESELF| and |RECURSE|.

    Then the files would be deleted the next time the user reboots the computer.

  10. New Entry

    CCleaner's built-in FontCache entry does not remove these files. These are locked files and CCleaner Free version can only remove them in Safe Mode. I guess CCleaner Professional version can remove them when CCleaner is set to run on computer start. I have not tried this yet.

    [FontCache More*]

    LangSecRef=3025

    Detect=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%WinDir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\FontCache|~*.dat

    I feel that this entry is something that will not be used by Winapp2.ini users because it doesn't work on normal CCleaner executions and going into Safe Mode is not a tactic that most users enjoy doing.

  11. In my opinion, [FlashPlayer Settings*] and [Adobe Flash Player Settings*] should be removed from Winapp2.ini.  I do not think users really want to remove their FlashPlayer settings once they customize them to meet their security needs on their systems.  This is somewhat like removing backups via Winapp2.ini for registry cleaners.  Plus [FlashPlayer Settings*] doesn't work on the latest versions of Google Chrome anyhow.  :wacko:

  12. Modified Entry:  [Flasher Player SharedObjects*]

    Added ExcludeKey1 to prevent resetting the FlashPlayer settings in Google Chrome.

    [FlashPlayer SharedObjects*]
    LangSecRef=3029
    SpecialDetect=DET_CHROME
    Detect1=HKCU\Software\Torch
    Detect2=HKCU\Software\SuperBird
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Amigo\User Data\*\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\WritableRoot\#SharedObjects|*.*|RECURSE

    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome*\User Data\*\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\WritableRoot\#SharedObjects\*\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\|settings.sol

  13. Modified entry:  [CyberLink PowerDVD 16*]

    -  Added FileKey3

    Since some time has passed and nothing changed and no one answered me I ask again:

    There is a folder called 'cache' (seems to be for faster startup) but the actual PowerDVD cache where all the thumbs, previews, BD-Live stuff etc. is saved and which needs cleaning is '%LocalAppData%\Cyberlink\PowerDVD*\Caches'.

    [CyberLink PowerDVD 16*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect=HKCU\Software\CyberLink\PowerDVD16
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Cyberlink\PowerDVD*\cache\|*.*
    FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\Cyberlink\Evoparser\|*.xml
    FileKey3=%LocalAppData%\Cyberlink\PowerDVD*\caches\|*.*|RECURSE

  14. If we really want to help many end users (and potential users) of Winapp2.ini, we should come up with a user friendly, easy-to-install/use tool that:

    1.  Downloads the latest winapp2.ini

    2.  Merges in the user's custom.ini

    3.  Organizes the entries in alphabetical order.

    4.  Runs a TRIM to match the user's system (no user interaction required)

    5.  Stores the newly trimmed winapp2.ini in the CCleaner folder

    ---- all steps performed automatically....from start to finish.

    Such a tool would most likely significantly increase the usage of winapp2.ini, particularly if it worked on XP, 7/8/10.  :)  IF I had the expertize to do it, I would, but I don't.

    That would negate any need to worry about "obsolete" entries in winapp2.ini.

    Again, JMO

  15. In that case, we should also remove SpyDefense* and Spyware Doctor, as these have been discontinued for many years (and maybe Spyware Terminator?).

    And how many people globally are still running Windows XP ??  There are a lot of people who just cannot afford to keep paying third party vendors for their annual release fee and list of trivial enhancements.

    JMO  :wacko:

  16. Revised Entry:  [Movavi Video Converter (Logs)*]

    Modified FileKey1:  Changed VideoConverter16 to VideoConverter* for new version 17 of this application.

    [Movavi Video Converter (Logs)*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect=HKCU\Software\MOVAVI
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Movavi\Logs\VideoConverter*|*.*

  17. What is this entry about and why is it in the Windows Store Apps section?

    I think it should be removed.

    [Windows Retail Demo*]

    DetectOS=10.0|

    Section=3031

    Detect=HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\RetailDemo|*.*|REMOVESELF

    This is from Windows 10 Insider Builds.  I would not remove it.

  20. Here the file.

    The file you posted is not winapp2.ini.  It looks like you downloaded the wrong file github.

    You need to download the RAW version of winapp2.ini from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/master/Winapp2.ini

    I have attached a pic that shows the beginning of the proper winapp2.ini file.

    Once the html page opens showing the winapp2.ini file, do a <select all><copy>.  Then open Notepad and paste winapp2.ini into a blank Notepad page.  Save the Notepad document as Winapp2.ini into the CCleaner folder

  21. Yes, it (CCleaner v5.25.5902 + the latest winapp2.ini) is working fine for me on all of my computers which are all Windows 10 x64 Pro and different hardware platforms.

    Zip your winapp2.ini and attach it to a post here so I can take a look at it.  I assume that you use "trim.bat" to reduce the size of the big winapp2.ini to match your system, eh ?  You didn't accidentally put it in your C:\program files\CCleaner as winapp2.txt, did you?

  22. CCleaner 5.25 can't recognize winapp2.ini although I put it in %Program Files%\CCleaner\ folder.

    I have reinstalled CCleaner but it resolves nothing.

    Any idea of workarounds?

    When you open CCleaner and select "Cleaner" on the left icon bar and then the "Applications" tab, there are no items with an * showing up in the list?  If there are, you have to check mark the ones you want to use.
