  1. I just bought a linksys 802.11G wireless router. I have set it up through the cd that came with it and my internet works but I cant find any install files on my pc. How do I change the settings on the router without reinstalling it? Also I am going to buy a PSP and I know that they have wifi access. Can it connect through my new router? I need to know because I live in a pretty rural area and there are no hotspots around. Last question, If I was to buy a second router can the two "talk to each other" without the second one needing to have a direct ethernet connection? I need to know this because I want to hook my Xbox and PS2 to the internet but I have no connection in my tv room and my office is downstars.

Here is the deal I got on my router which I think is pretty good.

  2.

I dont have microsoft office and have been using Star Office 8 (I got it for free during the beta trials). I love it, it makes powerpoint and excel documents with ease, plus they seem to be fully compatible with ms office. The only thing I didnt like was the word processor. I went to the above mentioned site and saw a link for abiword and it works perfectly. I do have ms works and this is deffinately a step above that pos.

  3. Javacool also offers the Spyware Guard , free also. I installed this along with Spyware Blaster. It seemed to get rid of one little pesky popup (java) I have not been able to get rid of for quite awhile.....

    Spyware Blaster

    Spyware Guard

I wanted to try that but I was afraid to run that at the same time as microsoft antispyware beta.

  4. I was wondering what Icons the people here have on their desktop.

    I have:

    Firefox

    Thunderbird

    Outlook

    Microsoft Works

    Sonic Record Now!

    WMP

    My computer

    My Documents

    Picasa 2

    IE

Staroffice 8 (writer, impress, database, calc, draw)

I like my desktop clean and simple. Now my start menu programs list is another story :D .

  5. Uninstall Real Player and get Real Alternative if you use it.

Also, if you don't use iTunes or have an iPod, uninstall that too.

I ditched I tunes because I never use it, but I use realplayer for my mp3 player. It is a sony and it has that stupid atrac format, and the included software is terrible.

  6. I had to use the restore partition on my PC. It pretty much brought my pc back to the day I first opened it. It has lots of junk programs and processes running. I have removed alot of it and reinstalled all of my malware protection programs. Tarun will you please analyze my Hijack This log? Thanks alot.

  7. Also, Im thinking about just using my restore partition to fix this. I have a brand new Compaq PC and it has a restore partition on it. I was wondering if anyone has used this before and if it went smoothely or not, also about how long did it take?.
