  1. Halo looks and plays rather childish in my opinion.

THANK YOU! I have telling this to people ever since the first one came out. Good FPS games are Unreal Tournament 2004, Half Life 2, and Call of Duty. Also AA is cool for a free game.

  2. Thanks Tarun that program worked perfectly. The show that I downloaded was pretty cool. They built a device where they could hack into unencrypted wireless cameras and see what it was taping.

  3. Did anyone here used to watch tech tv? I did, I loved the shows "call for help" and "the screen savers" but since they were put out of business they no longer play those shows. Now all they do is crappy video game stuff (and I do like games but those shows are terrible). well now the old tech tv( leo laporte, kevin rose, yoshi, and patrick norton) crew have quit g4 and are starting their own programming over the net. They have podcasts called "This Week in Tech" or TWIT that can be downloaded and listened to with WMP here: http://thisweekintech.com/. Also kevin rose is doing his own stuff with video called system ( http://systm.org/ ). The only problem it that the downloads are in bittorent, and I have no clue how to get them to work. Can someone tell me what I need to get them to work and exactly how to do it.

    Thanks alot.

And yes I know I am a geek for wanting to watch this, but they do truly help people learn about computers.

  4. Will his copy of norton stay up to date (I know it will have updates but will it have all of the definintions of the 2005 version)? Also DJ are you saying if I have a copy of norton that is from before 2004 I can just reinstall it to renew my subscription?

(Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less that a second to run) and FREE! :).

  6. SpywareBlaster stops tracking cookies.

Even I use MSAS (but not in my tray running all the time).

I use spyware blaster but I still get one or two. Not like the times two years ago when I would find 50 or more. The First time I used ad aware it found about 750 infections! Now a couple years later and a much nicer pc I have decided to go the anti malware route (its cheaper in the long run :) ).

  7. Yeah, it's for the tray icon that actively monitors the computer.  Not really needed if you use Firefox and SpywareBlaster.

Should firefox users even use ms antispy? I dont know about the rest of the people here but MSAS hasent ever found anything on my pc. I know it is a good program but if you use ad aware, spybot, and in my case spyware doctor (I dont care what anyone says it is a great program), than MSAS probably wont find anything. Just a thought.

Plus since switching to firefox all I get is tracking cookies anyway.

  8. MP3Trim

It trims mp3 files with ease. you have to try it to believe it. Is great for people who use stream rippers (remove commercials) or people who just want to shorten or edit their songs.

    Startup Control Pannel

A startup manager that is surprisingly easy to use. It breaks down each of your startup process into tabs so that its easier to find what your looking for. After download you will have to switch your control panel to classic view to find the program labeled "startup". Just drag the program to the location you desire then switch the control panel view back to "category view".

  9. I went to a link that someone posted called the "46 best freeware utilities ever" and found a program that was a temp file cleaner (It is number 36) on the site of the person who made that software has a program on his that he wrote to cover the adds. I do not use Opera so I have not tried this program, but if anyone here does try it and tell us what you think. The Program covers the adds in Opera with a launch bar that you can add any program too.

here is a link to the program:

Here is a link to the 46 best freeware utilities ever:

    http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm

And this is a link that was on the best freeware utilities site and is where I found the other program.

    http://danish-shareware.dk/soft/emptemp/

This looks like a good deal to me. If anyone tries it tell me how it goes. I hear that Opera is really good, even better than firefox. But like other software I just cant rationalize paying for a browser.

  10. the graphic looks nice... how about the game itself...?

That movie is in game footage. The opening sequence where they are flying are in game cut scenes but the combat part is real time. At least thats what sony says ;) . But if it is true this game will have the best graphics ever, probably better than most CGI movies. If you are into games checkout the rest of that site where the link is. That site (gamespot) is one of the best places to get info on new games for any console and the PC. They even have pics and movies of every game!

  13. I want a good clip board program, something that I can cut a paste to and from without opening Word every time. I dont like net snippets. Maybe their is a firefox extension for this but I cant find it. This is one of the main featues I miss from Maxthon.

  14. I didnt played any game, and no didnt watched a trailor, my opinion is: this game suck ... it just does, I dont like the GFx.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard and what did that trailor or game have to do with Gfx(I am assuming you are talking about a vido card).

What does anyone else who is a gamer here think about the game?

  15. Never seen anything uglier then that ... really ...

Obviously you didnt really watch the trailor. If you did than you would know that their isnt a game that even comes close to that right now. If you have or played something with better graphics than that, please tell me the specs of the PC you were playing on (I know their isnt a console that can do that right now). Also tell me what game you were playing.

  16. Try "www.Jeromy.net/chr" and it will give you several hits for an agerage time. Offers slow to fast connections test.

I ran the test on the highest speed and it said that my connection was 4.8 megabits! I dont know if this is accurate but its certainly better than 3.8 megabits.

Tarun try it too and post your results. I want something to compare my results to.
